Abstract

Mixed tumor of the skin is a rare benign neoplasm of the sweat gland resembling the mixed tumor of salivary glands and is composed of epithelial cells and chondroid or myxoid stroma in intimate association.
We presented a case of mixed tumor of the skin in a 71 years old man.
Since 5 years before he has suffered from finger tip sized tumor attached to the overlying skin on the left side upper lip without subjective symptom.
Biopsy findings showed marked variation in the size and shape of the tubular lumina, and in addition also cystic dilatation and branching lined by two layer of epithelial cells: a luminal layer of cuboidal cells and a peripheral layer of flattened cells. The abundant stroma in many areas had a mucoid or cartilagenous appearance.
The authors treated with scalpel excision and curettage without recurrence.
